Sake socks
The above socks have been done for awhile now. The sad thing is, they’re not for me. I mentioned them awhile ago. My sister replied to my e-mail with: “thank youu, i like socks !” so she’s getting them. I’m just annoyed that the second one fits me! I realized why my gauge changed so much between the two socks. I knit the leg of the first sock while at work, but the second leg was knit while I was at home during the weekend. Less stress at home so… yeah. At least she likes and appreciates socks (even if she calls the ones I knit “fancy-pants socks” and doesn’t like wearing shoes with them).
With all of the bank holiday weekends, I went on a little lace shawl kick. Knit Adamas by Miriam Felton in three days (used Misti Alpaca Lace). I almost don’t want to give it away, but it’s not for me, so I can’t show it off until the recipient has seen it first. I then started the Echo Flower Shawl by Jenny Johnson Johnen, but as it turns out, that shawl just isn’t meant to be. I cast on with 3.75 mm needles; decided I didn’t like it, so I ripped it out. Cast on again with 3.25mm needles, dropped a stitch and had to rip back. Cast on again and after the set up chart, the yarn broke. So I’m just not meant to knit that shawl right now. Maybe later. So instead, I’ve made more squares. I haven’t forgotten about the blanket, but I ran out of leftovers, so I had to set it aside for awhile. But I’m over the half way point, so yay!
Oh oh oh! Almost forgot. O & E went to a dance comp in Northwich yesterday (I was supposed to compete too, but my partner dropped out last week. I’d already said that I’d drive and E’s bf needed their car, so I drove). They entered Beginner’s Ballroom, Novice Ballroom and Beginner’s Latin. And won! All of them!
